Nostalgic Japan Photos

A couple of weeks ago I found an old photo of some udon that I took in Japan, and I liked that this became a spread (I photographed the photo and added handwritten text.) I think that having a repeating element in my book is better than just having a once-off, so I decided to look for some more old photos and create similar pages using them. Luckily, I have been going to Japan since 2006, so I have a bit of an archive of images. Particularly from my first and second trip, which were back in the day when you used to actually print photos out at Kodak. I used the iPhone document scan again, as I don’t have access to a scanner at the moment (and I kind of like the effect.) I plan to add handwritten text to them. I have been using this template to write my dreams, so I think I will continue that for now (although in future the text could change- maybe to my thoughts?) At the moment all 4 of these have the same text, which will obviously have to be replaced in future, but I do like how they all look (except for the bento one, which I don’t think I’ll use.) I particularly like the train platform, because it is so ubiquitous in Japan. I also like the way that you can see the shadow of the photo in the landscape and man with cats.
